How to start your georeferencing project

返回帮助中心已发布: 2021年7月25日

1. Get Your Own Customized Georeferencer Website

Each institution gets a personalized web address like:
https://demo.georeferencer.com/docs/geosearch
→ Replace “demo” with your chosen name.

Your site includes your logo, fonts, and colors – it matches your institution’s branding.

2. Create a Project Landing Page

We recommend creating your own introduction page for the project.
You can include:

  • Project description
  • Blog updates
  • Interactive widgets (see below)

3. Use Widgets to Show Progress

What are widgets?
Widgets are tools that show live stats from your georeferencing project:

  • Total contributions
  • Leaderboards
  • Progress charts

How to use them:

  • Embed them in your website using HTML iFrame
  • Or access the data in JSON format for custom use

📎 View all widgets and docs
(Replace “demo” with your institution's name)

You can directly link individual maps from:

  • Your library catalog
  • Digital archives
  • Institutional website

✅ Use simple link APIs to connect with the Georeferencer interface.

5. Get Results After the Project Ends

Once the georeferencing is done, you can export your results:

Excel spreadsheet (.XLS) with:

  • MARC 034 metadata
  • Bounding boxes
  • Geographic extents

GeoTIFF download
Generate GeoTIFF files from the “This map” page.

Map services (OGC WMTS)
Access via GIS tools like QGIS or ArcGIS (requires login).
